Wow!!!! I've seen quite the increase in followers since I was featured in The Sway newsletter last week! Because there are quite a few new comers here, I figured I would take some time to introduce myself -

Hi, I'm Emma! I've loved baking from a young age, but cake decorating has only been a hobby of mine over the past year or so. I have a background in healthcare, but I shifted career fields last year and now I work at a local bakery. 40 hours of baking a week just isn't enough for me, so I practice new skills in my free time and give cakes away to deserving people or charities in our community! Aside from cakes I love running, traveling, skiing, and drinking wine. I have the world's most supportive and loving husband and two crazy dogs named Fenway and Bruin (Yes, we're Boston fans. No, I don't want to talk about this year's football season). Anyways, I hope this blog brings you as much joy as it brings me!

Along with an increase of followers, I've been getting significantly more nominations! I love reading all of the kind words about your neighbors, friends and loved ones. Slice of Compassion was built upon thinking of others and paying it forward, and your nominations truly reflect that.... thank you!

That being said, I'm up to my ears in messages and I lead a pretty hectic life (especially with my supportive and loving husband being gone), so I apologize if I don't respond to you or if I don't make you a cake in a timely manner. Please know that I am reading every single message and I'm trying my absolute best to stay on top of everything! I try to do one donation cake a month and even that is sometimes a lot to take on. I'm currently booked through April, but I plan on sifting through messages and picking some more nominees in the next few weeks. Please be patient with me as I go through this process as cakes are both time consuming and expensive to make. Thank you for understanding <3

I'm attaching a photo of my very first cake to this post... I was so darn proud of that cake, but now I can barely look at it without cringing. I've learned so much over the past year and this photo really shows my progress. I hope this time next year I find myself cringing at cakes that I'm making now because that's what growth is all about! If you don't already, you can follow my instagram to see snippets of my baking/decorating process on my stories!

Baked with love,

Emma
